The Chafee Foster Youth Grant
If you were in foster care, for even one day, between the ages of 16 and 18, you may qualify for up to $5,000 a year for college with this grant program.
Chafee Foster Youth Grant Program
Who Can Apply
Students that were in foster care between the ages of 16 and 18 as a dependent or ward of the court. Students who are eligible to complete a FAFSA or California Dream Application, must apply annually.
Annual Amount
$5000 annually (maximum amount). Awards can be used for tuition costs or living expenses such as child care, rent, and transportation for periods of enrollment.
Enrollment Requirements
Must be enrolled at least half-time.
